Description

The sweetest way to support your climbing plants — literally.
Our Honey Bee Plant Stake brings form, function, and a buzz of charm to your indoor or outdoor greenery. Not only is it a beautiful addition to your pot plants or garden beds, but it also gives real support to climbers, creepers, and delicate stems that need a little help reaching their full potential.

The design features a honey bee perched on a naturalistic branch silhouette — cut from weathering Corten® steel, which develops a rich, earthy patina over time. Easy to assemble, easy to install, and proudly made in New Zealand, this stake is perfect for plant parents, bee lovers, and anyone with an eye for botanical beauty.

Our Honey Bee Stake is:

Strong yet subtle – Made from 3mm NZ Corten® steel that weathers naturally
Gift-ready – Ships flat in an A4 box (30cm × 21cm × 1cm)
Quick to ship – Same-day dispatch for orders placed before 2pm weekdays
Proudly local – Made in a family-run workshop in Aotearoa
Versatile use – Works great in indoor pots or outdoor garden beds

No green thumb required — install in seconds.

    1. Unbox and connect: Align the two 35cm sections and gently slide them together
    2. Choose a planter or garden bed with loose, well-draining soil
    3. Stake firmly into the soil, taking care not to disturb roots
    4. Guide climbing stems or trailing vines toward the support
    5. Let nature take it from there — your plants will love it

Top Tip: Keep the joint section above the soil line for easier maintenance and long-term use.

Is this stake suitable for indoor use?
Absolutely. It looks great in potted plants indoors or out, and the weathering steel adds a rustic charm either way.

    Will it rust?
Nope — it’s made from Corten® steel, which forms a protective patina. That’s the look!

Can I use it with edible plants?
Yes, just make sure fruit or veg doesn’t come into direct contact with the metal for long periods.

Is it one piece or two?
It comes in two pieces for easy shipping and storage. Once assembled, it reaches 70cm high.

What type of plants will it support?
Perfect for monstera, pothos, peas, beans, or any climbers that like a bit of structure.

Each Metalbird is crafted from Corten® Steel, a premium, weathering steel made to last.

When it meets the elements, it doesn’t rust like your old BBQ. It transforms.

That change you’re seeing? That’s patina. A tough, protective outer layer that seals the steel, adds character, and preserves your bird for decades.

This isn’t paint. It’s nature’s way of ageing gracefully.

    The Patina Process:

At first, you’ll notice bright orange spots (we call this the teenage phase). Soon enough, the whole bird will turn a bold orange, slowly shifting into deep burnt umber. Eventually, it settles into a moody charcoal that feels like it’s always belonged.

The Result? A piece of industrial art with a heartbeat. No peeling, no fading, just a bird that gets better with age.

what’s the word on the bird?
