We love offering you a cheeky deal or surprise mini now and then. But like any good flight plan, our promotions come with a few clear rules. Here’s the fine print made friendly.

Current Promotions

12 Days of Christmas Promotion

Runs 1-12 December

The 12 Days of Christmas is a series of daily, time-limited offers designed to bring a bit of festive fun to the season. To keep everything fair, consistent, and enjoyable for everyone, the following conditions apply:

  1. Each day’s offer is valid only for its specified date.
    Once the day ends, the offer ends with it. Offers can’t be extended, revived, or applied retrospectively, even if a customer missed the window.

  2. Offers apply only to purchases made during that day’s promotional period.
    We can’t apply yesterday’s offer to today’s order, and we can’t apply tomorrow’s offer early.

  3. Completed orders cannot be adjusted to match a different day’s offer.
    The event isn’t structured as a sequence where each day escalates. We vary the style of promotions intentionally - single-SKU offers, bundles, shipping perks, gifts, and more - so “better” is entirely subjective.
    For fairness, the price at the time of purchase remains the final price.

  4. Returns do not transfer promotional eligibility.
    Customers may return items under our usual returns policy, but a refund does not grant access to another day’s offer.

  5. Stock limitations apply.
    Once a product sells out during its featured day, the offer for that product concludes.

  6. New offers will continue daily.
    If a customer misses one day’s deal, another fresh offer will launch the next morning.

  7. These terms operate alongside our General Promotional Terms.
    All baseline promotional rules (such as no combining of offers unless specified, and standard returns rights) remain in effect.

These rules keep the promotion fair for everyone and ensure the value of each day’s offer remains clear and consistent.

  • You’ll receive one free Mini Bird when you purchase 2 or more full-priced birds in the same order.

  • Limit: One mini per order.

  • Not valid on:

    • Plant stakes

    • Discounted items

    • Bundle packs

    • Mini bird packs

  • Minis that come as part of a bundle can’t be swapped or exchanged for other products.

Free Shipping Offers

  • Orders over $150 NZD qualify for free standard shipping within New Zealand.

  • There are no rural surcharges (we think that’s only fair).

  • Free shipping does not apply to Australia orders — those are a flat rate of $39.99 NZD.

Bundles & Limited-Time Offers

  • Some bundles already include built-in discounts and/or free minis.

  • These bundles are pre-set and cannot be changed, swapped, or combined with other deals.

  • Discount codes can’t be used with bundles unless specifically mentioned in the promo.

Conservation Bird Promotions

Certain Metalbird designs are designated as Conservation Birds — including our Bird of the Year releases. These special birds help fund conservation work through our ongoing partnership with Forest & Bird.

Donations
Metalbird donates 30% of profits from every Conservation Bird sale directly to Forest & Bird (or another nominated conservation partner).

Discount Code Exclusions
Because these products support conservation efforts, discount codes can’t be used on any Conservation Bird products. This includes both individual products and bundles, unless a promotion specifically says otherwise.

Other Promotions
Conservation Bird products are excluded from sitewide sales, multi-buy deals, or discount events unless clearly stated on the product page.

Discount Codes

  • Only one code can be used per order (unless we say otherwise).

  • Discount codes don’t apply to:

    • Gift cards

    • Shipping fees

    • Past orders

    • Expired codes

    • Conservation Birds (see above)

  • Expired codes are... expired. Sorry, we can’t reactivate them.

Offer Changes & Errors

Sometimes things happen — tech hiccups, stock surprises, or bird stampedes. We reserve the right to change or cancel a promotion at any time if needed.
