The Metalbird New Zealand Bowl Feeder is a corten steel bird silhouette with a round bowl, mounted on a tree—an eye-catching yard art piece set against green trees and blue sky.
MEET THE BIRD

A little water stop, with a fantail on watch.

A steel ring holds the dish you choose, with a Mini Pīwakawaka perched alongside. The Bowl Feeder arrives as a holder and a separate bird that slots into place. Mount it level on sound timber, choose a stable dish that fits the 10 cm opening and keep the water fresh. The bowl in the photos is your cue to find one at home; it is not included.

MADE FOR OUTDOORS

Steel that changes with the seasons

Corten is weathering steel. Its grey surface changes through orange and brown tones as a natural rust patina develops. Colour and timing depend on the setting. Keep it well drained and allow for rusty runoff, which can mark paving, pots and nearby surfaces. This is unpainted steel, not a permanent black finish.

INSTALLATION

Slide it together. Keep the bowl level.

Slide the separate Mini Pīwakawaka into the holder. Hold the ring level, then tap the thick end of the mounting spike into sound timber with a hammer or mallet until secure. Choose a stable dish that sits safely in the approximately 10 cm opening and check the fit before use. Keep the dish clean and refresh its water regularly. Bowl, water and tools are not included.
