Preferably, no. Metalbirds are made from Corten® which is designed to
rust. This means paint won’t stay on for long. If you really want to,
you could try prepping the surface, and get them professionally powder
coated. However, we like them just the way they are - in the natural
state.

It is extremely tricky for us to locate an order that has already been processed in our warehouse, especially during the holiday season. Once orders are processed, they are packed into a very large bin, awaiting courier collection. We are talking hundreds of parcels at times! We kindly ask that you check over your order completely - items in cart and shipping details, to ensure all is correct before proceeding to checkout. Once your order has been processed, we are unable to make any changes.
If you would like to swap out bird(s) on your order, you will need to send the item back to our warehouse in order to process an exchange. Once we receive your item, we will be in contact to either issue a refund or exchange. Please head to our return policy for more information on returns here.
Unfortunately, once your order has been entered into our system, we are unable to make any changes to it. Please double check all of your shipping information is correct, and ensure you have included a personal message before submitting your order. We will not be able to add this on for you after order has been processed.
Unfortunately, no. We are unable to take pre orders on any out of stock items. Please make sure to hit the 'notify me' button to be notified once your bird is available for purchase.
No. We work out of a creative studio in Grey Lynn and do not have physical stock in our office. We use a third party logistics centre to dispatch all of our birds. Due to health and safety, we cannot offer pickups from our logistics centre.

Best way to keep in touch on out of stock items is to select the bird you'd like, and hit the 'Notify Me' button. This will automatically send you an email as soon as your bird is back in stock and available for purchase.
You can use Shop Pay to speed up checking out from participating Shopify stores, like us here at Metalbird. Shop pay uses your email address to recognise you at checkout and will automatically fill in your shipping and billing information.

Yes, you can. You just have to place an order for each address
separately. Shipping fees will apply. In order to
take advantage of promotional periods, discounted items with purchase, or free freight, orders must be
placed together, and be heading to the same address to qualify.
We are unable to split ship orders after they have entered into our system.
Typically if you place your order Monday - Friday before 2pm, we will dispatch on the same day! Once your order leaves our
warehouse, you'll receive an email notification with track and trace
information for you to monitor. From there, orders will be delivered the
next business day if you live in Auckland. For orders heading outside
of Auckland, ordered will be delivered between 1 and 2 business days.
Rural addresses are delivered within 2-3 business days.
Typically, if your order is placed with us before 2pm Monday - Friday, it will ship out on the same day. From here, delivery in Auckland is 1-2 days. North Island 2-3 days. South Island 4-5 days. Please note this excludes weekends.
Yes absolutely! No pricing information is delivered with your bird.
There is also an option to leave a personal message before you checkout,
that will be printed out on the back of our beautiful postcard. Please
ensure your message is included before checking out, as we will be
unable to add this later on.
Our birds come pre-packed in their own individual box. This box is then placed into a mailer before shipping. There will be no Metalbird branding on your parcel to give any surprises away.
If your property has a registered ATL (authority to leave) your parcel will be left by the courier in a safe place at your door, or a safe place. If you're not home to receive your parcel, a Call to Collect card will be left and you will need to either arrange for a re-delivery, or a pickup.

Yes! We have gift vouchers which are sent
electronically. Gift voucher amounts are available in 4 different
amounts to match our differently priced birds. Your gift voucher will be
sent directly to the email you have provided. If you are unable to
locate your voucher, please check your junk box. If you are still unable
to locate, please contact us at [email protected], and we will resend the voucher.
